Project Overview

The Shuohuang Railway is the second main transportation channel of west coal to the east of China. It has been built and opened for more than 15 years. The tunnel has many kinds of defects such as cracks, deformation and leakage. Therefore, entrusted by the Shuohuang Railway development co., LTD., we used the GPR5000 tunnel scanning and measurement system to carry out dynamic full-section scanning of 14 tunnels of Shuohuang railway with a total length of 5 km to obtain tunnel surface damage.


Project Process

The equipment used by our company is the GRP5000 tunnel scanning system, which is a measurement system developed to meet the requirements of railway tunnel clearance, convergent deformation and surface defects detection. Developed by Amberg technical corporation, Switzerland, with high precision, fast speed, good quality, automatic data analysis and other excellent performance.


Scanning


The measured railway of this project is the existing special line for coal transportation. There were only twice of possessive interval for construction in a week, from 7 am to 10 am. The scanning speed was 0.5m/s. It took 3 weeks to complete the field measurement. After the data collection was completed, the data was analyzed and processed with the post-processing software, and the technical conclusions were formed. The project process is shown in figure:

Project Achievement

The data processing of this project was carried out by post-processing software of GRP5000 system, which is used to acquire clearance analysis results and the surface greyscale of the tunnel. Then import the greyscale in TunnelMap to label and count the various facilities and the tunnel surface defect (such as cracks, leakage, etc.). Finally, output results in the form of tables and graphics.

Project conclusion

The project results fully meet the requirements of the entrusting party, timely discover the surface damage of the railway tunnel, provide an important reference basis for the maintenance of Shuohuang railway, and guarantee the safety of railway operation. The project fully proves that the GRP5000 system has the characteristics of high accuracy, fast efficiency and professional data processing power, and can serve well for the detection of tunnel defects. It is suitable for establishing digital operation archives for the tunnel, guiding the maintenance operation, and improving the operation and management level.
